Worlds 2026 Swiss Round Five: Six Teams, Three Places. In 2024 and 2025 the 3-2 Teams Went Furthest
On 1 November (KST) six teams at 2-2 play three best-of-threes for the last quarter-final places. In the last two Worlds, the six teams that won these deciders included a 2024 finalist, Bilibili Gaming, and the 2025 champion, T1.
The table this is written from: /worlds-2026
The 2026 World Championship Swiss Stage ends on 1 November. Six teams are at 2-2. They play three best-of-three matches, Korea time, and the three winners take the last places in the quarter-finals.
| KST | Match | Leagues |
|---|---|---|
| 02:00 | Movistar KOI v Karmine Corp | LEC v LEC |
| 05:00 | LOS v LYON | CBLOL v LCS |
| 08:00 | Hanwha Life Esports v Bilibili Gaming | LCK v LPL |
Because the pairings set league against league, some of the quarter-final line-up is already fixed: exactly one LEC team will be there, and one of LOS and LYON. The last match decides whether Korea’s LCK ends with four quarter-finalists or China’s LPL with three. Five are through: Dplus KIA, Gen.G and T1 from the LCK, Invictus Gaming and Top Esports from the LPL.
How the last two years’ deciders went
| Year | Decider | Winner went on to |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | Weibo Gaming 2-1 Dplus KIA | Semi-final |
| 2024 | Bilibili Gaming 2-1 G2 | Final |
| 2024 | FlyQuest 2-1 Team Liquid | Quarter-final |
| 2025 | CTBC Flying Oyster 2-0 FlyQuest | Quarter-final |
| 2025 | Top Esports 2-1 Bilibili Gaming | Semi-final |
| 2025 | T1 2-0 Movistar KOI | Won the title |
Four of the six went to a third game. Bilibili Gaming have played this round both years, winning in 2024 and losing in 2025; Movistar KOI lost theirs in 2025, to T1.
The 3-2 teams went furthest
| Qualified at | Teams, 2024 and 2025 | Reached the semi-finals or further |
|---|---|---|
| 3-0 | 4 | 2 |
| 3-1 | 6 | 2 |
| 3-2 | 6 | 4 |
The last teams in did not finish last. Four of the six 3-2 teams reached the semi-finals or further, among them Bilibili Gaming, who reached the 2024 final, and T1, who won in 2025. The first teams in, at 3-0, did no better than the rest.
Six deciders over two years is a very small group. It does not mean a 3-2 team is likely to go far this year. It means the Swiss record is not a ranking, and the teams playing on 1 November have not been told anything about their ceiling.
Which language reads the six
From 24 to 29 October (UTC), Karmine Corp and Bilibili Gaming were read most in their home languages; Movistar KOI and Hanwha Life were not.
| Team | Reads, all editions | Most-read edition |
|---|---|---|
| Karmine Corp | 3,980 | French, 1,945 |
| Movistar KOI | 3,717 | English 1,781; Spanish 1,178 |
| Hanwha Life Esports | 2,924 | Chinese, 1,037 |
| Bilibili Gaming | 2,846 | Chinese, 1,684 |
| LYON | not measured | no English article |
| LOS | not measured | no English article |
Movistar KOI, a Spanish team, was read more in English than in Spanish. Hanwha Life, a Korean team, was read most in Chinese, ahead of English (969). The Korean edition had 213, but Korean fans mostly use Namuwiki, which publishes no reading counts, so that figure says little about interest in Korea.
Hanwha Life’s route to 2-2 is in their win over G2. Every team’s record and reading is on our Worlds 2026 page.

What we left out, and why
- LYON and LOS reading: no English Wikipedia article found for either team, so not measured rather than counted as zero.
- 2023, which the official schedule feed does not cover from the start of the Swiss Stage.
- Predictions. Six deciders over two years is a very small group.
