About 150 releases by Korean acts are listed for October 2026, from full albums to Japanese singles. For each artist with an English Wikipedia article and three days of data after release, we asked one question: did the release make more people look them up?

We compared reads in the three days starting on release day with the 14 days before.

The typical comeback: 1.23 times

Change in English Wikipedia reads Artists
Doubled or more 7
Up 50% to 99% 9
Up 0% to 49% 18
Down 14

The median comeback lifted reads by 1.23 times. For more than a quarter of the artists, the release week drew fewer English Wikipedia readers than the fortnight before it.

The seven that doubled

Artist Release Reads a day before First three days Lift
Teen Top 15 Oct, DON’T STOP 116 816 7.0×
Sung Han-bin 12 Oct, DEAD:ALIVE 102 367 3.6×
Xdinary Heroes 12 Oct, IMPULSE 163 449 2.8×
Eric Nam 16 Oct, Confessions of a Lonely Heart 928 2,165 2.3×
Davichi 13 Oct, with Epik High 110 243 2.2×
JO1 2 Oct, ANIMAL 141 293 2.1×
Nam Woo-hyun 14 Oct, 2X8 79 160 2.0×

Teen Top’s page peaked at 1,416 reads on 16 October, twelve times its usual day.

The biggest names barely moved

Artist Release Before First three days Lift
Katseye 2 Oct, remix single 17,538 16,115 0.92×
Meovv 12 Oct, GO HARD 733 1,273 1.74×
Ive 19 Oct, pre-release Looks Can Kill 694 996 1.44×
Nmixx 19 Oct, Strange Muse 459 729 1.59×
Hearts2Hearts 5 Oct, Korean version single 698 696 1.00×

Katseye’s article is read more than all seven of the doubling acts combined, every day, and a remix single did not change that. A high base is hard to double: the readers who look up a well-known act are already there.

What this does and does not say

English Wikipedia is one window on international interest, not the whole of it. It leaves out Korean-language readers, streaming and social media. A release that does not move it can still chart; a jump can come from news that has nothing to do with the music, and we did not separate the two. What the count shows is narrower: a comeback, by itself, usually brings few new English-language readers. The ones that did this month started from small bases: none of the seven was read more than 1,000 times a day beforehand.

What we checked

  • Lift = median daily reads on release day and the two days after ÷ median daily reads over the 14 days before release.
  • 48 artists with an English article and three full days of data after release (1–20 October). Median lift 1.23. Lift of 2 or more: 7. Between 1.5 and 2: 9. Between 1 and 1.5: 18. Below 1: 14.
  • Teen Top (15 Oct): 116 before, 816 after, peak 1,416 on 16 Oct. Sung Han-bin (12 Oct) 102→367. Xdinary Heroes (12 Oct) 163→449. Eric Nam (16 Oct) 928→2,165. Davichi (13 Oct) 110→243. JO1 (2 Oct) 141→293. Nam Woo-hyun (14 Oct) 79→160.
  • Katseye (2 Oct): 17,538 before, 16,115 after (0.92). Ive (pre-release, 19 Oct) 694→996 (1.44). Nmixx (19 Oct) 459→729 (1.59). Meovv (12 Oct) 733→1,273 (1.74). Hearts2Hearts (5 Oct) 698→696 (1.00). Zelo (20 Oct) 151→45 (0.30).

What we left out, and why

  • Releases on 21–23 October (including Lisa's Press Play, BABYMONSTER, ATEEZ, Crush, Kang Daniel, BOL4, Lightsum): fewer than three days of data yet.
  • Artists without an English article we could match with confidence: Jeon Yu-jin; Kim Jae-hwan, Yuju and Lee Eun-sang, whose names lead to disambiguation pages. Collaborations listed under one act were counted under that act's page only.
  • Japanese-only releases were counted only where the act's article is the same one used for Korean releases.
  • Why any one artist rose or fell. A news story in the same days moves the same number; we did not separate the two.
