A Seoul court suspended the exclusive contract between EXO members Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin — known together as EXO-CBX — and their agency, INB100, on 15 September, according to Korea JoongAng Daily and STARNEWS. The trio had sought the injunction after accusing the agency, whose head Cha Ga-won faces a separate, reported ₩30 billion fraud allegation, of failing to pay them. The court sided with the three artists while their main lawsuit over the contract’s validity continues.
We don’t hold the case file. What we hold is how many people looked the three of them up on English Wikipedia — and as of publication, we can’t yet check the one day that matters most.
What we measured
We pulled daily English Wikipedia pageviews for Baekhyun, Chen and Xiumin over the 30 days ending 14 September 2026 — the freshest complete window the Wikimedia API had at the time of writing. Over that stretch, Baekhyun’s page averaged 293 views a day, Chen’s 187, and Xiumin’s 159.

On 7 September, when STARNEWS reported the trio’s application to suspend the contract, all three pages moved together — a consistent 1.24x-to-1.31x rise. That’s the shape we’d expect from one shared news event touching three people equally.
The bigger spike hit only one of them
14 September looks different. Baekhyun’s page had its highest day in our entire 30-day window — 443 views, 1.51x his baseline — while Chen’s page barely moved and Xiumin’s was actually below his average. We hold no headline dated 14 September that names Baekhyun specifically, so we are not guessing at what drove it. It may be connected to his role founding INB100 in 2023, or to something we simply don’t have a matched source for. Either way, a rise that hits one member and not the other two is a different kind of signal than the shared 7 September move, and we’re not going to paper over that difference by averaging it away.
What we can’t tell you yet
The court granted the injunction on 15 September — the actual news this article is about — and we cannot yet say whether that moved reading at all. Wikimedia’s pageviews API typically lags 1-2 days, and as of publication it has no rows for 15 September for any of the three pages. If you’re reading this expecting us to connect the court ruling to a reading spike, we don’t have that number. We have the smaller, earlier filing story instead, and we’re telling you which is which rather than filling the gap with the wrong day’s data.

- 7 September — the day STARNEWS reported EXO-CBX's application to suspend the contract — all three pages rose together: Baekhyun 363 (1.24x baseline), Chen 245 (1.31x), Xiumin 209 (1.31x).
- 14 September — the freshest day the API has at publication — only Baekhyun's page was elevated: 443 views, 1.51x baseline and the highest day in our 30-day window. Chen was flat at 190 (1.02x) and Xiumin was below average at 126 (0.79x).
- All three page titles were confirmed against Wikipedia's page-summary endpoint to resolve to the named performers, not disambiguation pages, before counting.
What we left out, and why
- Any read on 15 September, the day the court actually granted the injunction. Wikimedia's pageviews API has not published that day's data yet; we are not estimating it.
- Any explanation for Baekhyun's 14 September rise. We hold no headline dated that day naming him, so we are not guessing at a cause.
- The court case itself — the contract terms, the ₩30 billion figure tied to Cha Ga-won, or any legal outcome beyond what the cited reports state. We hold reading data, not the case file.
- Any reading of pageviews as public opinion on the ruling. A pageview is a lookup, not a verdict.
