All Eight of a Panel's Fourth-Generation Girl Groups Read Less Now Than in Year Two
NewJeans, IVE, LE SSERAFIM, aespa, ITZY, (G)I-DLE, STAYC and NMIXX all averaged fewer English Wikipedia reads a month in the last 12 months than in their second year after debut. The declines range from 9% to 53%.

All eight groups in a panel of prominent fourth-generation Korean girl groups averaged fewer monthly English Wikipedia reads in the most recent 12 months on file than they did in their second year after debut. NewJeans went from averaging 120,301 reads a month in its second year to 74,031 in the most recent 12 months — a 38% decline, in the middle of the panel.
What we counted
For each group we averaged monthly English-language Wikipedia pageviews across two windows: their second year after debut (months 13 through 24), and the most recent 12 months on file (September 2025 through August 2026). Reading is not popularity — it is how often someone opened the page — and we did not measure why any group’s reading changed.

What this does not show
Every group on this panel debuted between 2020 and 2022, so the recent window necessarily falls further from their debuts than the year-2 window did — some of this decline is the ordinary shape of attention over time, not something unique to any one group. We did not measure a cause for any single group’s decline, and reading is not a measure of streams, sales, or chart performance.
