Tue Sep 22 — In 14 of 51 comic-to-screen adaptations we measured, the original comic reads more on English Wikipedia than the film or show made from it. Three of those 14 are different Garfield adaptations — all losing to the same original.
Mon Sep 07 — 51 comics that Korean studios adapted, measured beside the adaptations. Korean webtoon sources were out-read in 16 of 18 cases, median gap 14x. Foreign sources — mostly Japanese manga — 3.7x, and won a third of the time.
Sat Aug 08 — Platforms average ₩94.5bn in revenue; content providers average ₩1.5bn. Three-quarters of all webtoon businesses take less than ₩1bn a year, and 214 of them have fewer than ten staff.
Thu Aug 06 — 396 webtoon businesses were surveyed in 2024. The 28 platforms average ₩94.5bn each; the 368 content providers average ₩1.5bn. The average describes almost nobody, and the studios that draw the comics sit at the bottom of it.
