Round two of the 2026 League of Legends World Championship Swiss Stage put two Korean derbies on the schedule, and on 25 October (KST) both were settled. Gen.G beat Hanwha Life Esports. Dplus Kia beat T1. Gen.G and Dplus Kia move to 2-0, one win from the quarter-finals. Hanwha Life and T1 drop to 1-1.

China, winless on day one, won three times.

Gen.G 23, Hanwha Life 7

The 07:00 match produced the widest kill margin of the day. Gen.G finished with 23 kills to Hanwha Life’s 7, 11 towers to 2, and all four dragons. Hanwha Life took none.

Every Gen.G player ended with at most two deaths. ADC Ruler led on Ezreal at 7/1/8, and top laner Kiin went 5/1/11 on Rumble. On the other side, Hanwha Life’s support Delight died eight times and jungler Kanavi six.

These two teams met in the LCK final in September, which Gen.G won 3-1. Hanwha Life went on to win the MSI title this year; today it got no closer.

Dplus Kia outlast T1

The 08:00 match was the longest of the day on the live feed’s clock, and it was close until the end. T1 took four dragons, mountain, infernal and two cloud, for the dragon soul. Dplus Kia answered with the elder dragon and closed out the game. The final kill score was 10-8 to Dplus Kia, with 9 towers to T1’s 6.

Dplus Kia’s ADC Smash finished 4/0/3 on Kalista without dying once, with 507 creep score, the most of any player in round two. T1’s Faker played Anivia and went 1/2/4.

T1 won the last three World Championships, from 2023 to 2025. To make the quarter-finals this year it now needs two wins from its next three games.

China gets on the board

On day one all four LPL teams lost, a first for the competition. Round two drew two of them against each other: Top Esports beat Anyone’s Legend 18-9 in kills, so one LPL team was certain to fall to 0-2. AL did. Mid laner Creme led TES at 8/2/3 on Locke.

Invictus Gaming beat Team Secret Whales 21-12, with veteran top laner TheShy at 7/3/7 on K’Sante.

In the last match of the day, Bilibili Gaming beat Team Liquid Alienware 17-2, taking 11 towers to 2. Mid laner Knight finished 6/0/8 on Orianna, and Korean ADC Viper did not die. Three of the four LPL teams are now 1-1; only Anyone’s Legend is 0-2.

What it means

The Swiss Stage sends a team to the quarter-finals at three wins and eliminates it at three losses. From round three, matches are best-of-three except those between 1-1 teams.

Record Teams
2-0 Movistar KOI, LYON, Gen.G, Dplus Kia
1-1 Top Esports, CTBC Flying Oyster, G2 Esports, Karmine Corp, Invictus Gaming, Hanwha Life Esports, T1, Bilibili Gaming
0-2 Anyone’s Legend, LOS, Team Secret Whales, Team Liquid Alienware

For Gen.G and Dplus Kia, one more win means the quarter-finals. Hanwha Life and T1 play their next game knowing a loss leaves them one defeat from elimination.

  • Round-three pairings: Riot had not published them when this was written. A separate preview follows once they are official.
  • Play-by-play beyond what the final statistics show. This report is built from Riot's official data, not from the broadcast.
