Is the single crowded month a fact about esports, or a fact about Korean players? To answer it we needed another country to compare against.
71.4% of the Korean players with an article in these editions are read enough to measure. For China, Sweden, United States together, the figure is 9.1%.

“Read enough to measure” means at least 300 reads across the four editions in 2025. Below that a single quiet month decides where the peak lands, so we do not report one.
The comparison could not be made. Players from the other countries have articles in these editions at a similar rate to the Koreans, but almost none of them are read enough to measure a peak month at all. There is no group to compare the Koreans against, and that absence is the finding rather than an obstacle to it.
Groups large enough to speak about: 2 (South Korea, Vietnam). Two groups is the minimum for a comparison, and the second one is Vietnam — home-country readers, which is a different thing again.
Our earlier page measured the most-read Korean athletes in these editions and found every esports player among them peaking in the same month. This page starts from Wikidata instead, which reaches further down, and there the share is lower. Both are true of the group each describes: the pattern is strongest among the players who are read most.
This is what Southeast Asian readers looked up. It says nothing about how these players are read at home.
