T1 are in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Championship. They beat Movistar KOI 2-0 in a best-of-three at 05:00 Korea time on 29 October and finished the Swiss Stage at 3-1, the third team through after Dplus KIA and Gen.G.

Their only loss came in the second round, to Dplus KIA. Since then they have beaten CTBC Flying Oyster and Movistar KOI.

The two games, from Riot’s live stats

Game Kills Gold Towers Dragons Barons
1 20–10 82,899–79,836 10–5 4–3 1–1
2 22–9 57,518–45,208 9–0 3–0 0–0

Game 1 was close on gold, about 3,000 apart at the end, with a baron each. Game 2 was not: Movistar KOI did not take a tower or a dragon. Faker played Syndra and then Orianna.

Where 3-1 teams finished, 2024 and 2025

Year Team Swiss record Went out in / won
2024 Top Esports 3-1 Quarter-final
2024 Hanwha Life 3-1 Quarter-final
2024 T1 3-1 Won the title
2025 Hanwha Life 3-1 Quarter-final
2025 G2 3-1 Quarter-final
2025 Gen.G 3-1 Semi-final

Six teams, three outcomes: one title, one semi-final, four quarter-final exits. The 3-1 route is the one T1 took to the 2024 title. In 2025 they won from 3-2, the last team in.

Across the same two years, the record a team qualified with did not line up with how far it went. Of the six 3-2 teams, four reached at least the semi-finals; of the six 3-1 teams, two did; of the four 3-0 teams, two did. Sixteen teams over two years is too few to call that a pattern. It is a reason not to read the Swiss record as a ranking.

Who read T1 that day

The match started at 20:00 UTC on 28 October. That day the T1 (esports) Wikipedia article was read 2,184 times across its 17 language editions, about twice its usual day of 1,079. The next day it fell back to 1,794.

The Spanish edition stood out: 267 reads against a usual 61, more than four times normal, on the day T1 played a Spanish team. English (897) and Chinese (401) were still the largest editions.

Every team’s record, where 3-0, 3-1 and 3-2 teams finished, and which language reads each team, is on our Worlds 2026 page. The last three places are decided on 1 November (the six teams and how deciders have gone).
