Lisa and Minnie Released EPs on the Same Day. On Thai Wikipedia, Minnie Out-Read Lisa
Blackpink's Lisa released Press Play and i-dle's Minnie released her first Thai-language EP on 23 October 2026. Lisa's English Wikipedia page rose 2.4 times to 12,079 reads. Her Thai page did not move: 207 reads, against Minnie's 407.
K-pop’s two best-known Thai stars released records on the same day. On 23 October 2026, Blackpink’s Lisa put out Press Play, her first EP, on Lloud and RCA Records, with a new single, “Tarantino”. The same day, i-dle’s Minnie released i love you to the moon and back, her first record in Thai (what that did to her pages).
Wikipedia shows two very different release days.
Lisa: a big English day, nothing in Thai
| Lisa’s page | Usual day (median, 1–18 Oct) | 23 Oct | Rise |
|---|---|---|---|
| English | 4,965 | 12,079 | ×2.4 |
| Portuguese | 120 | 241 | ×2.0 |
| Indonesian | 51 | 95 | ×1.9 |
| Chinese | 506 | 609 | ×1.2 |
| Spanish | 469 | 512 | ×1.1 |
| Thai | 217 | 207 | ×1.0 |
| Japanese | 563 | 453 | ×0.8 |
| Vietnamese | 86 | 72 | ×0.8 |
| Korean | 72 | 36 | ×0.5 |
The EP’s own English page went from 493 reads on 18 October to 4,414, and “Tarantino” from 234 to 4,100. In every other language we checked, Lisa’s page had an ordinary day, or a quieter one.
On Thai Wikipedia, the order flipped
| Thai Wikipedia | Usual day | 23 Oct |
|---|---|---|
| Lisa | 217 | 207 |
| Minnie | 60 | 407 |
On an ordinary day Lisa’s Thai page draws more than three times Minnie’s. On release day Minnie’s drew twice Lisa’s. Minnie made a Thai-language record and Thai readers looked her up. Lisa made an English-language record for a US label, and the lift came in English.
In English, no contest
On English Wikipedia, Lisa’s release day (12,079) was nearly thirteen times Minnie’s (943). Lisa’s English page usually draws about 5,000 reads a day, Minnie’s about 250.
What this does and does not say
Wikipedia reads count look-ups by language, not listeners. They do not show which EP sold more or streamed more. They do show that each record found readers in the language it was made in.
