Minnie's First Thai EP Lifted Thai Wikipedia Reads Nearly Sevenfold. Chinese Wikipedia Still Read Her More

i-dle's Minnie released her first Thai-language EP, i love you to the moon and back, on 23 October, her birthday. Thai Wikipedia reads of her went from a median 60 a day to 407. Chinese (648) and English (943) stayed bigger.

Minnie of i-dle released i love you to the moon and back on 23 October 2026, her birthday. It is her first record in Thai, her first language, and her first solo release in a year and nine months. A pop-up in Bangkok ran alongside it, and a fan live is set there for 25 October.

So did Thai readers come looking? They did. But they were not the biggest audience.

Release day across eight Wikipedias

Wikipedia Usual day (median, 1–18 Oct) 23 Oct Rise
English 252 943 ×3.7
Chinese 162 648 ×4.0
Thai 60 407 ×6.8
Japanese 60 100 ×1.7
Korean 18 78 ×4.5
Spanish 17 45 ×2.7
Indonesian 5 29 ×6.4
Vietnamese 12 5 —

Thai Wikipedia had the steepest rise: almost seven times its usual day. In plain reads, though, it came third. Chinese Wikipedia drew 648 and English 943.

Why the Chinese page is so big

Minnie’s Chinese-language page draws more than her Thai one on an ordinary day too, about 160 reads against 60. i-dle has long had one of K-pop’s largest Chinese-speaking audiences, since the group was formed with Chinese and Taiwanese members, and Chinese Wikipedia serves readers in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore as well as the mainland. A Thai-language EP did not change that order. It only narrowed the gap.

The birthday problem

23 October is both the release day and Minnie’s birthday, so these numbers cannot say how many readers came for the record and how many came for the date. One clue: on 19 October, four days early, English Wikipedia had already risen from about 250 to 396 reads and stayed near 400 until release day. We did not check what lifted it.

What this does and does not say

Wikipedia reads count how many people looked her up, in which language. They do not measure streams or sales. What they show is that a record made for Thai listeners got its biggest proportional lift in Thai, and its biggest audience in English and Chinese.
