Two of the Day's Top-1,000 English Wikipedia Pages Were Korean Titles
We scanned the 30 August 2026 daily top-1,000 most-read English Wikipedia articles for Korean film and TV titles. Two made the list: Mousetrap at rank 186 (21,033 reads) and Four Hands, Two Sonatas at rank 340 (15,420 reads).

Of the roughly 1,009 daily-top-1,000 entries we could resolve to a Wikidata item (992 matched, 17 unresolved), these were the only two we could identify as Korean film or television titles.
Why one day, and why it matters anyway
We are not claiming this is a typical day — we have only run this specific check once, on the day we happened to pull the full top-1,000 list, and a title’s global Netflix chart run does not map neatly onto any single day’s Wikipedia ranking. What the snapshot does show is scale: even a Netflix #1 global show (Mousetrap) sat at rank 186 of the world’s most-read English Wikipedia pages that day, not near the top. Attention that looks dominant on one chart can still be a small slice of English Wikipedia’s much larger, much broader daily reading list.

What we checked
- 992 of the day's top 1,000 slots were successfully matched to a Wikidata item; 17 could not be resolved and are excluded, not counted as non-Korean.
- Mousetrap (TV series): rank 186, 21,033 reads that day. It was Netflix's #1 global non-English show that week, per its first-week viewing figures.
- Four Hands, Two Sonatas: rank 340, 15,420 reads that day. This is the same drama whose fourth-episode cameo by pianist Yekwon Sunwoo we measured separately — a 30x reading spike on his own page the day after it aired.
- This is one day's snapshot, not a trend. We picked 30 August because it is the day we happened to pull the full top-1,000 list; we have not repeated this measurement on other days.
What we left out, and why
- Any claim about how many Korean titles 'usually' make the daily top 1,000. One day's count is one day's count.
- Titles that charted on Netflix but did not place in this specific day's top-1,000 English Wikipedia list — being outside the top 1,000 does not mean zero readers, just fewer than the 1,000th-ranked page that day.
- The 17 unresolved slots — we do not know if any were Korean, so we neither count nor exclude them from the 'how many Korean titles' question.
