BTS star signs: six signs for seven members, and that is the ordinary result

Seven members. Six signs. RM and Jung Kook are both Virgos and nobody else overlaps.

Six of seven is not unusual. It is the most likely answer

We drew seven people at random from the 9,249 Korean entertainers whose birth dates we hold, 200,000 times, using the real distribution rather than a flat one. Here is how many distinct signs came out.

Distinct signs among seven people drawn at random (200,000 draws, seed 20260905)
Distinct signsShare of draws
31.1%
411.8%
537.3%
638.7%
711%

38.7% of random groups of seven land on six distinct signs. It is the most common outcome — though only just: five distinct signs comes up in 37.3% of draws, and the two are close enough that a different seven people could easily have landed there instead. Whatever is interesting about these seven people, their spread across the zodiac is not it.

The unusual thing is not BTS. It is the whole population

While checking that, a real gap turned up — not in the band, but in the 9,249 people behind it. If birthdays fell evenly across the twelve signs, each would hold about 771 people, and chance alone would move that by roughly 27 either way. It moves a great deal more.

Pisces holds 919 and Gemini holds 688 — a gap of 1.34 to one, far outside what chance produces. 4 of the twelve signs sit more than two standard deviations from an even spread.

This is a fact about Korean birth records, not about star signs. February is the densest month at 30.5 people per day; June is the thinnest at 21.8. Winter and early spring carry more births than summer does, and the signs simply inherit that.

One number in this table is partly an artefact

48 people in our source are recorded as born on 1 January. That is the date used when only a year of birth is known, so it is not 48 real New Year's Day births. Capricorn is shown twice below for that reason.

Pisces is not affected by that date and still sits furthest from chance. So the pattern survives the artefact, which is the only reason we are willing to describe it at all.

Why we looked at this today

A Korean sports daily reported this week that BTS's Arirang was in its 24th week on the UK Official Albums Chart. We did not measure that chart and we make no claim about it. It is the reason we opened the file, not a number of ours. What we can measure is who these seven people are in the data we hold, and whether anything about that is out of the ordinary.

The answer is no — and saying so is the point. This is a statistic, not a person. We do not tell you what a sign means, because a date of birth does not carry that information and pretending otherwise would make us a fortune teller rather than a map.

How this was measured

  • What this is — The star signs of the seven BTS members, and whether that arrangement is unusual against the 9249 Korean entertainers whose birth dates we hold.
  • Source — Wikidata — Korean entertainers with a date of birth (P569)
  • Chance test — 200,000 draws of seven people from the real distribution, seed 20260905

What this cannot tell you

  • What this is not — Not a reading. We never say what a sign means about anyone. Not a claim that BTS is unusual. Six distinct signs is the single most likely outcome. Not a natal chart. Public profiles carry no birth times, so no chart is possible. Not a claim about the UK chart. We did not measure it and it is only the reason we looked.
