Yunho tours 7 Asian cities. English reads him most
He plays Taipei tonight and Jakarta next week. We counted daily Wikipedia views in every language those seven cities speak: English leads at 120.7 a day, and English is official in one stop of the seven.

U-Know Yunho, half of TVXQ, is in the middle of his first solo tour of Asia: seven cities, Seoul in July through Hong Kong on 26 September. Tonight is Taipei. Jakarta is next week.
Every outlet has the dates. We wanted a different number: in the languages those seven cities actually speak, how many people open an encyclopedia article about him on an average day?

What stands out
English reads him most, and English is official in one stop out of seven. 120.7 views a day, against 6.4 in Indonesian — 18.9 times as many — and Jakarta is a stop while no English-speaking city is, except Singapore, where English shares official status with three other languages.
Korean is third. His own language runs 27.6 a day, well below Chinese at 75.9. The Chinese figure is one well shared by three of the seven cities, which is part of why it is large; we would rather say that than let the table imply three separate audiences.
Three languages have no article at all. Malay, Tamil and Cantonese carry nothing about him. In Singapore, two of the four official languages are blank. In Hong Kong, the Chinese edition covers him but the Cantonese one does not.
That last row is the one we refuse to write as a zero. “No article” and “an article nobody opens” are different facts, and folding them together is the fastest way to produce a confident wrong number.
What this is not
It is not ticket sales. It is not attendance. It is not popularity, and it is certainly not an argument that the tour picked the wrong cities — venues, promoters, visas and who will actually buy a ticket decide that, and we can measure none of them.
What we can say is narrower and still worth knowing: the readership is largest in a language that one stop on this tour speaks. For an artist whose Korean readership is 23 percent of his English one, that is a fact about where the audience already is, sitting next to a schedule about where the stage will be.

What we checked
- A view is a page open, not a person and not a ticket. One reader can open a page many times, so we call it views throughout and never people
- An absent language edition is recorded as no article, never as 0. Malay, Tamil and Cantonese carry no article about him, which is a different fact from an article nobody opens
- Taipei, Macau and Hong Kong all draw on the Chinese edition, so that figure is one well shared three ways rather than three readerships. It is stated in the piece rather than left for the table to imply
- The city list is the reason we asked the question, not something we measured. Per-city dates appear mainly in Korean coverage and we do not treat them as our own figure
- We do not say the tour picked the wrong cities. Venues, promoters and ticket demand decide that and we can measure none of them
