Jennie and V are top-5 read and outside our Netflix panel
We rank 300 Korean names by Wikipedia reads. Nine of the top twelve — V, Jennie, Jungkook, Jisoo, ROSÉ — have fewer than two Netflix charting titles, so our own panel cannot see them. That is 38.8% of the reading.

We hold a panel of 634 people who appear in Korean titles that charted on Netflix. It is the spine of most of what we publish about performers.
Separately, we rank 300 Korean entertainers by how many people opened their English Wikipedia page in the 30 days to 20 August 2026.

Nine of the top twelve are outside it. So are 13 of the top 20, and 115 of the 300 — together 3,411,955 reads, or 38.8% of all the reading in this set.
Two different reasons, and they should not be mixed
The names outside the panel are not one group.
Idols. V, Jennie, Jungkook, Jisoo, ROSÉ, Jimin. They are read heavily and they do not appear in the cast of Korean titles that reached a Netflix weekly top 10. Our panel is built from those casts, so it cannot see them.
Korean-American actors. Ken Jeong, Steven Yeun, Arden Cho, Daniel Dae Kim. They work mostly outside Korean productions. The panel is Korean titles, so it cannot see them either — for a completely different reason.
Reporting one figure for both would be wrong. The first group is a gap in what Netflix charts measure. The second is a gap in what “Korean title” means.
The hole is not made of small names
If the people outside the panel were minor, this would be a footnote. They are not.
ROSÉ has an article in 86 Wikipedias. Jennie has 78. The median across all 300 names we measure is 25. Taking the two groups as wholes, the 115 outside the panel sit at a median of 27 editions and the 185 inside at 24 — the outside group is, if anything, written about in slightly more languages.
What we are going to do about it
Nothing yet, and we would rather say so than publish a page with four facts on it.
We hold reads, edition counts, birth dates and rank for these 115 names. We do not hold what we hold for the other 185 — chart runs, countries reached, weeks on a list, who they appeared beside. A page built only from the first set would be thin, and thin pages are how a data site stops being worth reading.
Our panel’s shape came from the data that was easiest to get, not from what people actually look up. Writing that down is the first step to fixing it.

What we checked
- Our Netflix people panel requires at least two charting titles. A name with exactly one charting title is also outside it, so 'outside the panel' does not mean 'never on Netflix'.
- Reads are English Wikipedia only, for one 30-day window. A different window or a different edition would move individual names, though not the shape.
- Names enter the 300 only if they have articles in at least 14 language editions. Someone read heavily in Korean alone would not appear here at all.
What we left out, and why
- Why anyone opened a page. Wikipedia records no reason, and we did not go looking for one.
- Popularity, streams, ticket sales, fandom size. This counts encyclopaedia articles being opened.
- Search volume. We hold no paid keyword data. This is the size of interest in a name, not the number of searches for it.
