Squid Game hit 93 countries. Lee Jung-jae's next best: 4

Thirteen of Squid Game's cast have a second Korean title that charted. For five of them it reached five countries or fewer — Jung Ho-yeon's reached one. For seven it reached fifty or more. The same show did both.

Squid Game entered a Netflix weekly top 10 in 93 countries, across 60 weeks and 3,228 chart places. It is the widest-travelling Korean title we hold.

We can see thirteen of its cast in our data. For each, we counted the countries reached by their next biggest charting title — the one that is not Squid Game.

Next biggest title Countries
Park Hae-soo The Great Flood 93
Lee You-mi All of Us Are Dead 93
Kim Young-ok Ballerina 89
Heo Sung-tae The Silent Sea 76
Gong Yoo The Silent Sea 76
Kang Mal-geum The Silent Sea 76
Wi Ha-jun Gyeongseong Creature 69
Lee Byung-hun Addicted 19
Lee Jung-jae Hunt 4
Heo Dong-won The Outlaws 3
Jung Ho-yeon Hope 1
Kim Joo-ryoung Recalled 1
You Seong-joo 12.12: The Day 1

The median is 69 countries. The distribution is not a slope — it is two clusters. Seven cast members have a second title above 50 countries. Five have one at five or fewer.

The two leads are on the low side

This is the part that is easy to get backwards. Lee Jung-jae, who played Gi-hun, has nine charting titles — more than most of the cast — and the widest of them apart from Squid Game is Hunt, at four countries. Jung Ho-yeon’s is Hope, at one.

Meanwhile Park Hae-soo and Lee You-mi, further down the call sheet, each have a second title that also reached 93.

Being the face of the most-travelled Korean title in the data does not put your other work on more charts. In this cast it is mildly the other way round.

Count of titles and reach of titles are different things

Lee Byung-hun has thirteen charting titles, the most of anyone here. His widest one outside Squid Game reached 19 countries. A long list and a wide list are separate facts, and “prolific” gets used for both.

What we cannot see

Our people panel only includes someone once they have at least two Korean titles that charted. Squid Game cast members with exactly one are not in this table — not because they do not exist, but because our filter removes them. We would rather name that than present thirteen as the cast.

Nothing here counts cinema, broadcast television or other streaming services. And a lead role and a single scene are the same row: this data holds no billing.

Every one of these people has a page at person; every title at titles.

Where these numbers come from

Sources

What we checked

  • Our people panel only holds someone once they have at least two Korean titles that charted. Cast members with exactly one are absent by construction — so this is not the full cast, and the absence is a fact about our filter, not about them.
  • Countries means countries where the title entered a weekly top 10, not where it was available. Netflix publishes no availability data anywhere.
  • A charting title is one that reached a top 10 somewhere. Work that never charted is invisible here, so every count is a floor on a career, not a filmography.

What we left out, and why

  • Roles, screen time and billing. A lead and a one-scene part count the same in this data, and that limitation is real.
  • Everything outside Netflix. Cinema, broadcast television and other services are not in these files at all.
  • Why a title travelled. Commissioning, promotion and release strategy are not published.
