KPop Demon Hunters is in its 62nd chart week. Mexico held it longer than the United States did
Mattel and LEGO are only now dating their KPop Demon Hunters toys. We counted the weeks the film actually spent in each country's Netflix Top 10: 93 countries, Latvia 62, Mexico 51, the United States 49, South Korea 32.
The table this is written from: /demon-hunters-countries
Mattel has dated its Saja Boys figures. LEGO sets are being talked about for 2027. The merchandise for KPop Demon Hunters is arriving now — and the film has already been sitting in national Netflix Top 10s for well over a year.
We counted how many weeks it actually charted, country by country, from the raw weekly tables rather than from anyone’s summary. 93 countries put it in a Top 10 at least once.
The longest runs are not where you would guess
| Country | Weeks in the Top 10 | Longest unbroken run | Weeks it dropped out and came back |
|---|---|---|---|
| Latvia | 62 | 62 | 0 |
| Estonia | 60 | 51 | 2 |
| Lithuania | 59 | 51 | 3 |
| Serbia | 57 | 51 | 2 |
| Mexico | 51 | 45 | 5 |
| Bulgaria | 49 | 44 | 4 |
| United States | 49 | 46 | 2 |
| Taiwan | 44 | 43 | 1 |
| South Korea | 32 | 32 | 0 |
Latvia never let it fall out once — 62 weeks, unbroken, which is every week the title charted anywhere. Mexico gave it 51 weeks, two more than the United States. South Korea, where the film is set, gave it 32, and also never dropped it.
Mexico is worth its own line this week
Mexico ranks fifth in the world by chart weeks for this title, and Canal 5 has just picked up a dubbed Korean drama. Those are two separate facts about the same audience, arriving in the same week.
Mexico’s run was not smooth — the film fell out of the Top 10 and climbed back five separate times, tied with Bolivia for the most re-entries among the eight longest runs. That pattern is the opposite of Latvia’s. One country held it steadily; the other kept going back to it.
76 of the 93 countries put it at number one
Reaching the top spot turns out to be the common outcome, not the exceptional one. What separates countries is not whether they got there but how long they stayed.
| Countries | |
|---|---|
| Charted at all | 93 |
| Reached number one | 76 |
| Charted 50 weeks or more | 5 |
| Never dropped out once | 15 |
The fifteen that never dropped out are a strange list: Latvia, Hong Kong, Peru, Argentina, South Korea, Colombia, Jamaica, the United Arab Emirates, the Bahamas, Germany, Qatar, Trinidad and Tobago, the Netherlands, Bangladesh, Pakistan. Three are in South America, three in the English-speaking Caribbean, two in the Gulf, and two in South Asia. Only two are in western Europe.
What a year on the chart looks like next to everything else Korean
A long Netflix run is one thing. Attention outside the platform is another, and it fades much faster.
We have measured, separately, how long a Korean title holds the reading it gains: for 26 Korean titles with enough months to measure, the median time to lose half of their peak Wikipedia readership was two months. Encyclopedia reading and chart weeks are not the same measure and we do not add them together — but the contrast is the point. The thing that lasts 62 weeks on a chart can lose half its lookups in eight.
The same asymmetry shows up in comics. Korean webtoons that get adapted are read fourteen times more once the drama exists than they were as comics; Japanese manga in the same position, only 3.7 times. Korean stories, in English, tend to acquire their audience from the adaptation rather than bring one to it. KPop Demon Hunters is that pattern at full size — an animated film with a fictional K-pop group inside it, charting for 62 weeks, with the toys arriving afterwards.
Method
Every country-week here was read from the published weekly Top 10 table for that country, 501,040 rows in all. Russia is excluded, as in all our by-country counts. A week counts only if the title appears in that country’s own published Top 10 for that week; we never add weeks across countries into a single total, because a week in Latvia and a week in the United States are not the same quantity of anything. The data ends with the week of 2026-08-23. Whether the film is still charting after that date, we have not measured, and we do not fill it in.

What we checked
- Weeks are counted from the raw weekly country tables, not from a summary: a country-week counts only if the title appears in that country's published Top 10 for that week.
- The Russia exclusion rule every other by-country count on this site uses was applied here too. It removed no rows, because Russia does not appear in these tables at all — we record that it removed nothing rather than implying it removed something.
- Weeks are never added across countries into one total. A week in Latvia and a week in the United States are not the same quantity of anything.
