BTS's Jin Quadrupled His Fan-Vote Count in Eight Days, Passing 2PM's Junho
STARPOLL's Male Idol leaderboard put Jin fifth on 16 September with 4,574 votes. Eight days later he had 19,663 — a 4.3x rise — and had moved past 2PM's Junho into third place. Junho's own count rose too; Jin's just rose faster.
STARPOLL is a fan-voting app run by STARNEWS, official partner of the AAA 2026 awards. Its public “Star Ranking” leaderboard updates continuously, and we archive a snapshot of it roughly once a week. On 16 September 2026, the Male Idol category read: CORTIS’s Sunghyun first, CORTIS’s Kunho second, 2PM’s Junho third, CORTIS’s Juhoon fourth, and BTS’s Jin fifth with 4,574 votes.
We took the next snapshot eight days later, on 24 September. Jin’s vote count had become 19,663 — 4.3 times what it was — and he had moved past Junho into third place.
What changed in eight days

Every other name in the top five moved by 43.7% or less, in either direction, over the same eight days. Jin’s count more than quadrupled.
Junho didn’t fall — he was passed
It’s worth being precise about what moved Junho out of third place. His own vote count rose too, by 6.8% (1,042 more votes), over the same window — a real gain, not a decline. He dropped a rank because Jin added 15,089 votes in the same span, roughly 14 times as many votes as Junho added, not because Junho’s own support shrank. The one name in the top five that did shrink in absolute terms was Juhoon, down 43.7% (3,221 fewer votes).
At the top of the category, nothing shifted. CORTIS’s Sunghyun and Kunho both grew their totals and held first and second — the gap between first place and third place widened over the window, even as third place itself changed hands.
What this does and doesn’t tell us
A vote total counts people motivated to cast a vote, repeatedly, for a name over a short window — it is not a measurement of how many people are reading about that name, and we’re not substituting one for the other here. We also can’t say why Jin’s count rose this much this fast: an award-show appearance, a fan-campaign push, a comeback-adjacent event, or ordinary week-to-week swings in a vote total could each produce a move this size, and STARPOLL’s public page gives us no way to isolate which. What we can say, narrowly, is what the leaderboard itself recorded twice, eight days apart: one name in a five-name category multiplied its vote count while the other four each moved by less than half of that, in either direction.

What we left out, and why
- Any Wikipedia-reading comparison for this pairing. Our earlier piece on the 16 September snapshot set Jin's vote count against his English Wikipedia reading; we are not re-pulling that 30-day window here, so this piece measures the vote panel only.
- Any reason for Jin's rise or Juhoon's fall — a comeback, an award-show appearance, a fan-campaign push, or ordinary week-to-week noise in a vote total could each move a number this size, and we have no source that isolates the cause.
- Any claim that STARPOLL's vote is inflated, manipulated, or 'not real.' We don't have evidence either way. It counts people motivated to vote, repeatedly, for a name — not people who happened to look the name up.
- 6th place and below. STARPOLL's public leaderboard renders only the top five per category without a login; the rest sits behind an API path our collector does not call (robots.txt disallows it).
- Any comparison outside the Male Idol category. The other nine STARPOLL categories moved by different amounts over the same eight days; this piece is about the one swing large enough to change a top-five order.
