Some Korean stars have an article on only one of the four Southeast Asian Wikipedias. Which one keeps them, and who are they?
421 of 1,023 Korean actors and 828 of 1,701 music acts have an article on exactly one of these four Wikipedias. For the actors, 409 of those 421 — 97.1% — are held by the Indonesian edition alone. Ahn Sung-ki, one of the most decorated actors in Korean film, is one of them.
828 of 1,701 (48.7%) appear on exactly one edition. Names are the most-read of them on that edition, in reads per million reads of that Wikipedia.

That is the first explanation anyone reaches for, and the table below rules it out. The Vietnamese Wikipedia is larger on articles and on active editors, and it is not the one holding these names.
| Wikipedia | Articles | Active editors | Korean names held alone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Indonesian | 790,784 | 4,690 | 1155 |
| Vietnamese | 1,304,001 | 4,726 | 31 |
| Thai | 186,434 | 2,963 | 34 |
| Malay | 440,840 | 2,018 | 29 |
A bigger encyclopaedia would be expected to hold more of everything. It is not the biggest of the four that keeps these names, so we can rule that explanation out. We did not measure what replaces it and we are not going to guess.
Two different fields were used to count how many editions hold an article about a person — the edition count recorded with each person, and the number of editions that returned a reading figure. They agree for every one of the 2,724 people here. A check that reuses the field being checked would agree with itself, so we used both.
An article existing is an editing decision, not a measure of interest. A star written up only in Indonesian may be perfectly well known in Thailand and simply unwritten there. This page cannot tell those two situations apart, and it does not try.
Not popularity. An article existing is an editing decision. Someone unwritten in Thai may still be well known in Thailand.
Not why. We can rule out edition size — the biggest of the four is not the one that keeps these names — and we did not measure what replaces it.
Not everyone. The panel is built from Korean titles that reached a Netflix country chart.
Dividing by an edition's own total means a month when that edition was unusually busy lowers every article in it. The ratio measures share of attention inside an edition, not how many people read something. Whether an article exists is a decision made by editors, not a measure of interest. A star held by one edition alone may be well known in the other three and simply unwritten there, and this page cannot tell those two apart. The panel is the cast and the acts behind Korean titles that reached a Netflix country chart, so anyone outside that is absent entirely.
