Korean pop culture, in numbers

Which countries had it on Netflix?

There is no honest full answer to this question, and it is worth knowing why before you read the lists below. Netflix publishes no catalogue for any country. Nobody outside the company can list the countries a title is available in, and any site that shows you one is guessing or scraping.

What Netflix does publish is a weekly top 10 for each of 93 countries. If a title is on a country’s list for a week, it was watchable in that country that week — that much is certain. So these lists are a floor, not a catalogue: every country named here definitely had it, and a country not named here may well have had it too, just outside the top ten.

Read the absence carefully. A country missing from a list below does not mean the title was unavailable there. In 269 weeks across 93 countries, only ten slots exist per country per week, and Korean titles compete with everything else for them. Most availability is invisible in this data, and we will not pretend otherwise.

We cannot fully confirm this one is the Korean work. Wikidata lists Ireland, South Korea, United States for a film or series with exactly this English name, so the rows above may belong to a different work that shares the title. We publish the figures and this warning together rather than quietly dropping either.

For scale: most Korean titles reach very few countries

Of the 974 Korean titles that ever entered any country’s weekly top 10 between 2021-07-04 and 2026-08-23, the middle one reached 2 countries. 447 of them — 46% — charted in exactly one country and nowhere else.

So a list of three or four countries above is not a small number by the standard of this data. It is close to typical. We say that because a short list looks like a disappointment if you have nothing to put it next to, and that impression would be ours to correct.

“Available in 190+ countries” is a different claim

Announcements often give a country count in the high hundreds — a show arriving on Netflix “in over 190 countries”. Nothing on this page can confirm or contradict that, and it is worth being plain about why: Netflix publishes weekly top tens for 94 countries. There is no public chart for the rest.

So the two numbers are not comparable and never will be. One is where a title can be watched, which the distributor announces. The other is where enough people watched it to reach a published top ten, which is the only part anyone outside the company can count. The widest reach any Korean title has ever managed in the second sense is 93 of the 94.

We are not saying an announcement is wrong. We are saying we have no way to check it, and that a reader who sees 190 in a headline and a small number here is looking at two different measurements rather than a contradiction.

What this page cannot answer

A country listed here is a country where the title demonstrably could be watched in that week, because it was in that week top 10. A country not listed is not a country where it was missing. Netflix publishes no per-country catalogue, so absence from a chart means only that the title did not place in the top ten there.

How this was measured

Netflix's own weekly top 10 files by country, 2021-07-04 to 2026-08-23, across 93 countries and 269 weeks. A country is listed for a title when that country's weekly top 10 contained the title in at least one week. "Weeks in its top 10" counts those weeks. The titles shown are not an editorial selection: they are the titles that people searching this question actually landed on this site for, taken from our own Google Search Console query export for the four weeks to 2026-08-26.

What this cannot tell you

This is a floor on availability, never a catalogue. Netflix publishes no per-country catalogue, so a country absent from a list here may still have carried the title outside its top ten — which is the common case. Catalogues also change monthly, and these weeks run back years, so nothing here says where a title is today. Netflix states no country of production; which titles count as Korean is our inference from the title text checked against Wikidata, and where Wikidata shows the same English name on works from more than one country we say so on the title rather than hiding it.
